Hi i am currently looking for my Partners Nan named Jessica Constance Young divorced from William Winterbourne 1940 something one Son Roy William Winterbourne .
I am looking for help in finding my grandmother's real parents.Her name is Daisy Ethel Archer.I found her in the 1891 england census,she is living with people by the name of Pritchards.She is classified as a nursech,she is one yr old.She was born in Holloway,London so it says in these 1891 census.Her marriage certificate says she did not know parents.In the 1901 england census she is at Barnardos.I am trying to find her on my own.Please can anyone out their give me any advice to what I should look into next.
Hi. Although I can help directly, it stuck me that Daisy's real mother may have been a single lady who was in prison at the time. Holloway womens prison opened in 1849:
Daisy's Mother may have given birth whilst in Prison at Hollway and I would expect the prison authorities would have made her mother give the child up for adoption. If she was a prisoner the child could have been born out of wedlock and the Mother (For fear of shaming the Father) refusing to name the man.
Whilst this may be of little of Consolation to your Grandmother, perhaps a research of Children born at Holloway Prison might give you a lead? Say 1889 -1890 to start.

I am looking for any information about the Family of George Walter Fulcher and Emily Ansell Brookman who lived in london around the victorian era they had 10 children i believe and i understand that George may have been a police sergant they were married in Romford but 1891 and 1901 show them living in the city of london although i am not sure where so any additional information will be gratfully recieved
